Privacy policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026
ButtaGO reminds a household, a family or a building when to take out the bins, and lets its members share the turns and ask each other for help. This policy explains which data the app processes, why, and what you can do about it.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Mariela Luz Jorge Garcia. Contact: miesolutionsit@gmail.com.
Which data we process
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Account: name, email address, sign-in method (email, Google or Apple) | To create your account and show your name to the other members of your circles. |
| Circle content entered by its members: circle name, town (from the official ISTAT list), zone, time zone, bins with their collection types and calendars, who takes out each bin, the turns (who was due, who did it or took it over, who asked for help, and when) | To provide the service: show what is due tonight, remind the right person, pass a turn to someone else when help is asked. |
| Your preferences: the time of the evening reminder, whether you want the summary of the others' turns | To send the reminders when you want them. |
| Archived copy of a circle you left or that was deleted: the circle content described above, as it was at that moment | To let you consult it after you leave, without receiving later updates. Visible only to you. |
| Device: a Firebase installation identifier, platform, app language and which of our apps are installed | To send push notifications (tonight's turn, help requests, who took a turn over) in your language, only to the apps that use them. |
| Technical logs: account and record identifiers when a notification is sent or an account is deleted | To operate and troubleshoot the service. Kept for up to 30 days. |
Suggestions for your town and zone
To help new users set up their bins, ButtaGO suggests the bins and calendars already used by other circles in the same town and zone. For this, each circle contributes, unless it turns sharing off:
- the town and the zone name;
- its bins: icon, collection types and, for the zone, the calendar rules (for example "every Monday").
Nothing else is shared: no names of people, no addresses, no turns, no exceptions to the calendar. A bin name is shared only when it just says what goes in it (for example "Glass and metals"); any other name is replaced by the collection types. Other users only see the suggestion and how many circles use it, never which circles. The suggestions are kept and read only by our server. A circle can turn sharing off in Settings ("Suggest our calendar to neighbours"): its contribution is removed from the counts. Deleting a circle also removes it.
When other circles of a zone move to a new calendar, the circles still on the old one see a notice in the app inviting them to check with their town before applying the change. Nothing changes without your confirmation.
Usage statistics
To understand how the app is used and improve it, we may use Google Analytics for Firebase (Google Ireland Limited). It is active only if you agree when the app asks you, and you can change your choice at any time in the app settings. If you agree, it collects:
- a random identifier of the app installation (not your account);
- device model, operating system, app version, language and approximate country, derived from the IP address, which is not stored;
- which screens are opened and which features are used, and when.
It never receives the content you enter (bins, calendars, turns, circle and member names), nor your name or email address. The statistics are kept for up to 14 months and are not used for advertising.
Legal bases
- Providing the service you asked for (art. 6.1.b GDPR) for your account, your circles and notifications.
- Consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR) for usage statistics, which you can withdraw at any time from the app settings.
- Legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f GDPR) for the suggestions, which contain no personal data of the members and can be turned off, and for technical logs needed to keep the service secure and working.
Who can see the data
Circle content is visible only to the members of that circle. The archived copy of a circle is visible only to the person who owns it. We do not sell data or show ads.
The service runs on Google Firebase (Google Ireland Limited), which acts as data processor: Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Functions (data stored in the europe-west8 region, Milan, Italy) and Firebase Cloud Messaging for notifications. Some Google services, such as authentication and notification delivery, may process data outside the European Union under the safeguards provided by Google (Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework).
The same account works in our other apps (MedMum, SpendyGO): data of each app stays in its own circles and is shown only by the app it belongs to.
How long we keep data
- Your account, preferences and device data: until you delete your account.
- Circle content: while the circle exists. A circle is removed when its last member leaves it, when an administrator deletes it, or when its last member deletes their account.
- Past turns: while the circle exists, as its record.
- Archived copies: until you delete them from the app or you delete your account.
- Suggestions: the circle's contribution is updated whenever its bins change and removed when sharing is turned off or the circle is deleted.
- Technical logs: up to 30 days.
- Usage statistics: up to 14 months.
When you delete your account, the turns you did stay in the circle with your name, because they are part of its shared record. You can ask us to anonymise them.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, and to restrict or object to its processing, by writing to miesolutionsit@gmail.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) or the authority of your country.
Deleting your account
In the app: Settings, Account, Delete account. Without the app, see how to request deletion.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
Informativa privacy
Ultimo aggiornamento: 30 ottobre 2026
Visibile solo a te. |
Conservati fino a 30 giorni. |
- il Comune e il nome della zona;
Per capire come viene usata l'app e migliorarla, possiamo usare Google Analytics for Firebase (Google Ireland Limited).
- un identificativo casuale dell'installazione dell'app (non del tuo account);
- modello del dispositivo, sistema operativo, versione dell'app, lingua e paese approssimativo, ricavato dall'indirizzo IP, che non viene conservato;
Chi vede i dati
- Account, preferenze e dati del dispositivo: fino all'eliminazione dell'account.
- Log tecnici: fino a 30 giorni.
I tuoi diritti
Eliminare l'account
Nell'app: Impostazioni, Account, Elimina account. Senza l'app, vedi come richiedere la cancellazione.
Minori
